Christmas Centerpieces

Inspiration for Execution

With every well-executed design there is research, mood boards, and inspiration! It’s a pretty fun design process and makes shopping and designing much easier. And we all need some guidance when it comes to Christmas shopping. So we pulled together some of our favorite trends and hopefully one will speak to you!

Beautiful Simplicity

We all know that Christmastime is not normally characterized by the word “ease”. No, it’s a time of frantically buying gifts for Great Aunt Susan, throwing decorations around every corner of the home, letting the little ones “help” make cookies, and preppy for the big Christmas meal… all while still recuperating from Thanksgiving. The truth of the matter is that for Mom’s Christmas is hectic, even if it is the most wonderful time of the year! So this type of centerpiece is meant to make life a little bit easier while keeping that Christmas spirit alive in your decor.

A tray, platter, bowl, or cake stand is a great tool for simple decorating. It allows you to parcel off what will and will not be decorated without the non-decorated section looking odd. Having just one centerpiece really does make it the focal point. That being said, we love the idea of having lights, candles, or ornaments as part of the centerpiece so that light jumps off and makes it even more intriguing. Playing with light makes the room feel almost enchanted and lively– the examples below attest to it!

A Classic Red & Plaid

Christmas is a magical time with glistening snow, sparkling lights, and old holiday tunes, and this is contrasted by Christmas trees, wool blankets, and pinecones. It is both glitzy and woodsy, which is another one of our favorite centerpiece trends. A balance of the glitz and ruggedness provides a balance for the entire room, and it is a great jumping off point for the rest of the home.

Want a Burberry-esque feel to your table this Christmas? The winning combination is an item of each of these categories: plaid, red, sparkly, and of course some greenery! This look is so alluring because it effortlessly balances feminine and masculine. The feminine comes from either the burning candles or the metallic details like ornaments, candlesticks or chargers. Masculine plays its role in the dark color scheme, matte colors, and dark greenery. The matte colors along with the dark colors make this a sort of moody look while still being very traditional. Such a combination is very alluring.

Girl Power

What’s more fun than a Gal’s gal party? We love these girl-empowering tablescapes. But these tables aren’t pink all over. No, they are tastefully done with some golds, cute napkins, and that classic Christmas greenery. We especially love the striped gold candlesticks in the third example. Girls, there’s still time to get your best friends together and celebrate with the most feminine brunch… we’ll bring the mimosas!
