There is a style cohesion that is predictable in the most comforting of ways to those that embrace a Traditional style. There may be a sense of formality, but that doesn't mean stuffy and over lacquered cherry wood! The new Traditional incorporates some of the rules of old, but still has a fresh and appealing look and feel.
Cottage
Cottage style encompasses the soft warm embrace of a cozy sofa and a warm cup of tea. Embracing cottage style means seeking an outcome that is humble yet refined. This style makes you feel as though you’re enjoying a long weekend at a beautiful lake house. Color palettes contain lots of warm whites and neutrals, plus plenty of natural wood elements.

- Keep Comfort in Mind. Cottages are inherently cozy places. Make sure to select furniture that will feel comfortable and inviting.
- Cozy up your space with textiles. Think plaid throws and linen pillow covers! Adding various textiles around the space will increase the comfort level of your guests.
- Paint your walls something light, bright, and slightly warm. Try Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore. This color is very light which will brighten the space, but it also has warm undertones that will make the space feel inviting.
